Tim & Chamie Delkeskamp

Tim is a Lutheran pastor; Chamie is a Methodist pastor.  And maybe it’s their corss-denominationalism that has inspired them to say and believe that it is NOT about denominational titles, but walking in the Jesus-way.  They have a passion to live both as “mystics” (people who pray and worship and yearn for a deep connection with God) and “prophets” (people who speak of God’s justice and mercy in the world).  Tim grew up in Southern California; Chamie primarily in South Dakota and Minnesota.  They both came from what you might call “average-Joe, middle-class families.”  Today they have a heart for everyday, ordinary families – families that they believe can be and do extraordinary things as they walk in the Jesus-way.  What might not be “average-Joe” about the Delkeskamp’s is the unique opportunities they have had to travel and experience life beyond their own neighborhoods.  Tim has traveled extensively in Europe and the Middle East, even living for a stint in Israel and working for a Jewish carpenter named Boaz.  Tim also studied in Zimbabwe.  Chamie studied on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota and has served in places as diverse as inner city Chicago, the hollers of Appalacia, and the colonias of Mexico.  Along with their children, Tim & Chamie spent 3 months in the summer of 2009 traveling England, France, and the United States as they studied “family spirituality” – much of which was influenced by old and new monasticism.  Tim & Chamie long to experience God fully whether home or away with Aidan, 8, Jude, 5, and Hannah, 3.
